£30k grant allows charity to employ more staff

A CHARITY in Sunderland and Gateshead has received a £30,000 grant to support the most vulnerable people in the region.

Handcrafted Projects has been given the funding by Leeds Building Society, as part of its 150th anniversary celebrations.

‘The charity aims to support people feeling excluded from society, to help them connect with others through housing, opportunities and training.

This allows the homeless the chance to create a stable home for themselves, but also offers a variety of training activities.

‘They aim to create a positive and welcoming environment through their activity hubs and cafe which allows residents to connect with the wider community and the Handcrafted team.
