What to wear on hot days

As temperatures climb and the sun blazes overhead, dressing appropriately for hot days becomes more than a matter of comfort — it’s a matter of health and wellbeing.

What to wear on hot days

Choosing the right clothes and colours during sweltering weather can help you stay cool, protect your skin, and reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses.

When it comes to hot weather, the fabric of your clothing matters most. Natural, breathable materials are your best friend. Cotton tops the list for its lightweight and moisture-absorbing qualities. Linen, another popular summer choice, is looser-woven and allows for more airflow, making it ideal for sticky, humid days.

Chambray, a soft cotton fabric that resembles denim, is another good option for those who want a casual yet breathable look.

Synthetic fabrics, on the other hand, tend to trap heat and sweat, especially polyester and nylon. These should be avoided unless specifically designed as moisture-wicking athletic wear. Even then, for non-exercise settings, natural fibres remain preferable.
