Pakistan, Sri Lanka reiterate commitment for closer military ties

Pakistan and Sri Lanka emphasised their shared vision to strengthen mutual understanding, capacity enhancement and regional security through sustained high-level engagements.

The Ministry of Defence said so in a press release issued after Chief of General Staff of the Pakistan Army, Lieutenant General Syed Aamer Raza, met Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General (retd.) Aruna Jayasekara and the Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal (retd.) Sampath Thuyacontha separately.
Lieutenant General Raza was accompanied by Colonel Muhammad Farooq, Defence Advisor to the High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka.
