Former Minister and veteran communist activist DEW Gunasekera recently found fault with both the government and the Opposition for failing to grasp rapidly changing global developments.
Addressing a Communist Party meeting held at Sugeeswara Hall, Matara on April 13, 2025, Gunasekera, President of the CPSL told the gathering that had Dr. Wickremasinghe been alive today, he would have been the happiest to witnes the emergence the new world economic order under condition of multi-polarity.
The meeting was preceded by paying a general tribute to Dr. Wickremasinghe at his statue opposite the Matara Uyanwatte esplanade. The meeting was held to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. S. A. Wickremasinghe founding leader of the CPSL.
