The delegation arrives here amidst continuing turmoil caused by the controversial new US tariff structure that prompted Sri Lanka to initiate talks with Washington to explore ways and means to overcome the crisis.

Meanwhile, the organisers of Sri Lanka-China Trade and Investment Forum issued the following statement yesterday: “A high-level Sri Lanka-China Trade and Investment Forum will be held in Colombo on May 30, 2025, hosted by The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and the Department of Commerce of Sri Lanka, together with the Sri Lanka-China Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber, and the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products.
