CRICKET England's Joe Root has been shortlisted for the Professional Cricketers' Association men's player of the year award, with England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt one of four candidates for the women's award.

Root (below), a winner in 2021, enjoyed a prolific international summer and has been nominated by his fellow players alongside Surrey's Dom Sibley, Jordan Cox of Essex and Warwickshire's Ed B
