Flats set to be flattened

COUNCIL SAYS DEMOLITION WORK WILL START IN JANUARY - BUT FEARS REMAIN

KIRKLEES Council has set out the exact date it plans to tear down the tower blocks at Berry Brow - but neighbouring residents have made their fears known.

An application seeking permission to demolish the notorious structures is currently awaiting a decision on the council’s planning portal, with January 19, 2026 given as the date the local authority wants the bulldozing to begin. The work would be completed on or before October 20, 2026.
