Cabin boy: Jack loved his first cruise holiday

My earliest cruise holiday memory is standing on stage, aged three, attempting to sing Oh, I Do Like to Be Beside the Seaside for an onboard talent show. I forgot the words halfway through, but the audience including my parents, elder sister and nanna - joined in to rescue me. For me, that moment captures what a cruise holiday is really about: bringing people together.

Now a mum myself to four-year-old Jack, and with parents in their seventies, I was keen to see if the magical cross-generation cruise formula still worked. My husband John and I booked us all on to a seven-night trip to the Norwegian Fjords on board Iona with P&O Cruises.
