Warning to drivers who travel abroad

MILLIONS of UK holiday-goers will embark on a European trip this year, either hiring a car once they arrive or embarking on a road trip to their destination.

With driving laws varying between countries, it’s vital for drivers to be aware of the laws for their chosen holiday destination or risk hefty fines.

Discussing what motorists can expect if they did receive a fine while driving abroad, Tim Rodie, driving expert at Motorpoint said: “When driving in the EU, you'll be held to account if you break the rules of the road just like at home in the UK.

“While many rules are the same, it's important to make sure you're familiar with the rules and road customs of the countries you'll be driving in.
