MARCH HIGHLIGHTS DANGERS TO WOMEN AND GIRLS

NOW in its third year, Trevi's Reclaim the Night march through Plymouth saw hundreds of women, accompanied by men and children, take to the streets to highlight the issue of violence and sexual abuse against women and girls.

The march, which had not taken place in Plymouth for more than a decade, was relaunched in 2024 following the murder of teenage girl Bobbi-Anne McLeod by a stranger.

The march was repeated in 2025, again just a short while after another appalling murder, that of Claire Chick.

This year the event was attended by Megan Field, VAWG Strategic Lead for Plymouth City Council and councillor and MP Rebecca Smith, who previously chaired the Plymouth Commission on Violence Against Women and Girls, set up in the wake of Bobbi-Anne McLeod’s murder.
