New shuttlebus for Devonport dockyard

A NEW bus service is launching in Plymouth take workers to Devonport Dockyard.

Defence giant Babcock International Group Plc, which operates the dockyard, is to start what it calls a “sustainable” bus shuttle service, which it said will transform the daily commute for its workers and provide wider benefits around the city.

The “dynamic pickup and drop-off” initiative will initially launch across several “popular” commuter routes in Plymouth, with the service also extending more widely to include locations such as Ivybridge and Saltash.

The service will be accessible via an app, and will offer passengers a “smarter, more flexible way to travel”, with Babcock workers able to book their place on one of many shuttle buses running from 5am until 5pm from mid-October.
