New Continental hotel sold to become a Hilton

PLYMOUTH’S landmark New Continental Hotel has been sold and will undergo a major revamp before opening next year under the Hilton banner.
London-based Elevate Hotels Plymouth Ltd has purchased the 161-year-old building, at Millbay, and will run it as a franchise under the Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand.
It plans to close the hotel for a full renovation before reopening in the spring of 2027. It will feature 120 fully revamped guest rooms, along with meeting facilities, a fitness centre, and a restaurant and bar.
Guests will be able to benefit from the Hilton Honors loyalty programme.
The New Continental is one of two hotels Hilton yesterday said will join its Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand.
The other is in the Irish city of Cork, and Hilton said the signings underscore its selective, long-term growth strategy with a focus on destinations, demonstrating strong demand.
