THE awful train attack which unfolded in Cambridgeshire over the weekend will lead to much further investigation in the coming months, while the horror of those who experienced it cannot be fathomed.

Yet alongside the horrific events was a worrying commentary from a certain number of leading figures in the media spotlight, who, before the full facts were known, leapt to some conclusions about its origins.

Former Reform MP Rupert Lowe, speaking on News UK's Talk - a radio and Youtube TV station - said “the British state has been complicit in a crime like this” because governments “haven't done enough to deport illegal immigrants”.

On social media, among those also leaping to conclusions was ex-GB News presenter Dan Wootton.

He said on X - which used to be called Twitter: “GB News now talking about knives rather than the elephant in the room: MASS MIGRATION FOR DECADES HAS PUT US ALL AT RISK.

“The MSM are following the narrative of the police as per.”
