Inquest told Claire died of multiple stab wounds

AN inquest has opened into the death of a 48-year-old woman who died after an attack in a Plymouth street.

The inquest, at Exeter Coroners' Court, heard that Claire Chick, previously known as Claire Butler, died after sustaining multiple stab wounds on January 22.

The hearing heard that Claire, of Kingdom Street, was admitted to Derriford Hospital after being found injured in West Hoe Road. She died in hospital the same day.

Claire, who was born in Stockton-onTees and was said to be married, worked as a lecturer at the University of Plymouth.
