Goundry shines in success for Victory A

PAUL Goundry (27.83) rounded off his Steve Chapman 501 League season for Victory A with a 16-darter that came in a fine 3-0 win at Bar Mez in an 8-3 win.
Goundry was one of a trio of players on display that put together ten ton-plusses as teammate Tony Tasker joined Archie Borlaise for the opposition in achieving that feat.
Tasker's tally was ticked over to that mark by one of the two maximums in the contest as Scott Lawrey also fired for the visitors. Borlaise also contributed to the highlight reel at the business end of legs as he ended his 3-1 loss in the individual phase with a leg in 17 darts.
King Billy's 11-0 win versus Raffles saw Andrew Cook provide most of the flames in the scoring phase of play as he nailed 16 scores of a ton or more. Cook's 180 was one of six in the contest as the other three for the home team were all provided by Scott Cook on his way to 11 three-figure visits.
Simon Wilbraham put up a 180 on his way to 11 tons for the defeated away side, and the final maxi was provided by teammate Luke Beard.
Ant Pearn also contributed heavily to the victory with ten ton-plusses that included a 116 checkout that was sandwiched between a 100 from Andrew Cook and a 118 by Lewis Byrne.
In the individual phase, Pearn started the proceedings with a 3-1 win that contained a leg in 15 darts before Andrew Cook's 14-darter proved crucial in a 3-2 triumph. Brandon Hartley usurped both of those efforts with a 12 darter in his 3-0 success, whilst two of the aforementioned 180s came in a 3-0 win for Scott Cook that also saw him fire a leg in 18.
Nick Bryant provided the ammunition to complete an 11-0 win for Cherry Tree C at Fawn A as he put 15 three-figure visits onto the scoreboard. Bryant was supported by Melvyn German and Lee Hellings, who both added ten tons each, whilst Bill Scannell was unlucky to end up on the wrong side of the one-way traffic after hitting 11 ton-plusses.
Hellings added to a 180 from Dave Lee with one of his own, whilst Bryant showed his class with the 101 checkout that came in a 3-1 singles win that also saw legs tumble in 15 and 17 darts.
