Call centre closing - over 100 jobs at risk

A PLYMOUTH call centre is to close, with potentially more than 100 redundancies.

Outsourcing firm Foundever is to shut its base at Mast House, Sutton Harbour, in central Plymouth, with remaining staff either working at other locations or from home.

The company has entered a 45-day consultation with staff. The number of redundancies expected have not been announced, but workers are saying on social media that it could be as many as 170.

Posts say staff employed on an account with retailer John Lewis and Waitrose could be halved, with 62 being let go. One worker said: "Foundever site in Plymouth is to close. JL [John Lewis] campaign to be cut from approx 120 top approx 60. 45-day consultation period starts as of today [April 2]."
