Big moments going against resilient Tavistock

TAVISTOCK manager Stuart Henderson drew confidence from the performance of his players, but it was a familiar story for the Lambs as they went down to a 2-1 home loss to Portishead Town in Southern League Division One south.

Henderson saw his side enjoy much of the game and create enough chances, but a failure to take them - apart from Harry Donovan's stoppage time consolation - ultimately cost them as the visitors remained second in the standings, while Tavi remain bottom and are now 11 points adrift of safety.

"I thought in the first half an hour, we were bright, but when chances come along, you have to take them," Henderson (pictured) said. "I don't want to dig any individuals out, but we are eight yards out and we haven't hit the target. It's a simple strike, not really under a lot of pressure and he just has to prod it - and we had another chance as well.
