The spoon-bending magician and mystic Uri Geller has revealed he was the buyer of a pair of John Lennon's round-framed glasses which sold for £40,000.

The blue-tinted spectacles were bought in an auction on Wednesday held at Farleigh golf club in Surrey. They were given by the former Beatle to a man from Surrey as a birthday present more than 55 years ago.
