TERMINALLY ILL MUM-OF-TWO'S PLEA FOR £30K PIONEERING CANCER TREATMENT

- By GAVIN HAVERY

'We will not give up hope when there are still options available'

A TERMINALLY ill mother is hoping to raise enough money to fund experimental medical treatment so she can spend more time with her young family.

Amy Rainbow, mum to seven-year-old Elliot and four-year-old Harper, is being treated for life limiting brain tumours.

She has already outlived the three months doctors gave her 18 months ago and now she has issued a heart-rending plea to help her prolong her life.

A trained nurse, Amy, 31, from Marton in Middlesbrough, said every day is a blessing and is determined to remain positive. She said: “I don’t have a choice.

“You just have to deal with it head on. I can’t change it so that is why every day I look for new treatments. This is a one-off treatment where they take blood and put it in a laboratory and make cells so your own blood is making cancer-killing cells to be put back in your body to improve your health.”
