We need to take a wider view of welfare reform

WELL, I would love to be able to give you a summary of this week (so far) in Parliament but that is proving a little difficult to do.

Monday was always going to be interesting with Welfare Bill changes being debated.
The debate wasn’t even taken to the wire. From what we have seen there were negotiations and discussion taking place during the debate with at least one MP saying that they were not sure what was going on.
The welfare budget needs reform. It is not sustainable in its current format.
There are at least one million young people who are receiving Personal Independence Payment (PIP), which seems to be the most debated part of the reform. They are on this benefit due to mental health issues and anxiety.
