Skate park clean-up unites community

YOUNGSTERS 'PROUD' TO WORK ALONGSIDE TEAM OF CARETAKERS

A SKATE park cleanup in Middlesbrough has brought the community together.

Local young people worked along the council's new team of community caretakers at the facility in Park End.

Before the team started, it had been covered in graffiti, with broken glass and litter strewn on the floor. But community caretakers from the council’s east neighbourhood team worked together with young people from the Junction Foundation on a major cleanup.

It’s now safe, welcoming and ready for local families and young people to enjoy again.

Mayor Chris Cooke also went along to pitch in and was impressed with the work he saw.
