Sadness as 'last bastion' of local guitar shops closes

ONE of the region’s best-known guitar shops will rock no more as the owner announced it was closing for good.

In a post on Facebook, the owner of Steven James Guitar and Amp Centre in Saltburn announced it was time to bid farewell “after many incredible years”.
The news has been met with sadness from music fans from across the area and beyond.
Steven James opened his first store at 165 Linthorpe Road in Middlesbrough in 2006.
They enjoyed eight years of trading before moving over the road to a larger unit, which served as both a shop and the popular bar Sticky Fingers.
The store and venue closed in 2019, with the guitar and amp store being relocated to its last home in Saltburn.
