Robins happy to head home unscathed

MARK Robins admitted his Stoke City side may have gotten away with one on Tuesday evening, as he offered an honest verdict on the goalless draw at Middlesbrough, and the first-half penalty claim for Tommy Conway.

In a first half dominated by Boro, they might have had a golden opportunity to take the lead when Ben Pearson dangled out his leg and made contact with Tommy Conway inside the penalty area.

Much to Conway and Rob Edwards’ frustration, however, referee David Webb booked Conway for diving.

Asked his thoughts after, Robins said: “It could have gone either way, but it's gone our way today, and we'll take it. They'll be disappointed with it. It's always just down to the referee in the moment and it can be difficult for them. They have to make a judgement immediately, and that was quick, no doubt.
