Police confirm body found in River Tees is missing teen

POLICE have confirmed that a body found in the River Tees at Ingleby Barwick on Friday is that of 13-year-old Mylo Capilla.

A full scale search operation was launched after Mylo went missing on Thursday night after playing out with a friend at an area known as 'The Muddies,' near Ramsey Gardens in Ingleby Barwick. Tragically after night and day searches by multiple 999 crews, the body of a boy was found by officers searching the River Tees, which runs next to the site.

A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: "Following formal identification, police can confirm the body that was found on Friday June 27 in Ingleby Barwick is that of 13-year-old Mylo Capilla. His family has expressed their gratitude to the local community and the emergency services in the following statement:

"Following the tragic loss of our beloved son Mylo, we, as a family, wish to express our sincere gratitude to the community for their overwhelming support.
