New food waste caddies on way

RESIDENTS across Middlesbrough are due to receive additional bins in order to recycle more of their waste.

New bins and waste caddies are to be delivered to properties across the town from April 2026 onwards, with collections getting started in July of next year.

In a report going to councillors at next week's full council meeting, executive member for environment and sustainability, Labour Councillor Peter Gavigan, said that work is "well underway" for food waste collections to kick off from July 2026.
