HAYDEN Hackney was named Player and Players’ Player of the Season as Middlesbrough hosted their end-of-season awards on Tuesday evening.
In an event at the Town Hall ahead of the final game of the season on Saturday, academy graduate Hackney picked up a double-award win, one of which was voted for by Boro supporters on the club website, and the other was decided amongst the players.
He pipped other contenders, including Finn Azaz, who had a solid campaign in netting 12 goals and registering 10 assists.
Hackney topped both the fan poll and the players’ votes after once again being a central figure in Boro's push for a play-off spot this season.
