Local insight can put Bears on Wright track

DANNY King has pointed out that local track knowledge could be key when Redcar travel to Oxford tonight in a clash that might decide who takes the fourth and final playoff place come the end of the season.

King, currently second in the Agilia Bears averages, was as gutted as anyone that the Teessiders' unbeaten home record was wrecked by Glasgow last Friday.

The Tigers, fellow Scottish side Edinburgh and league leaders Poole are now strong favourites to take three places, while Oxford stand fourth - some three points ahead of sixth-placed Redcar but having ridden two more matches.

So the three points up for grabs this evening have become huge with barely a month of the scheduled season remaining.

"Losing at home last Friday was a massive blow and very disappointing but we are missing riders so are not at full strength and it showed," King said.
