With five wins from six, Boro’s unbeaten start has offered much hope for Rob Edwards’ side. Even after so many new faces joined the club this summer, Boro keep finding ways to win games - whether it be through quality play and dominant performances, getting goals from set-pieces, or biting down on the gumshield to grind out the hard-fought wins.
As a former Boro player who still spends plenty of time at the club as he continues to rehabilitate from the ankle surgery that ultimately ended his playing career prematurely, the onetime Championship promotion winner is delighted to see Rob Edwards’ early success on Teesside.
Speaking on the 72+ BBC Football Daily Podcast, Smith said: “It's certainly going well so far. It makes for great reading. I’m absolutely delighted for Rob, all the players and the staff, and just the football club in general.
