HORSE POWER Morris Dancer has all the right moves for Salisbury

MORRIS Dancer was only just denied at Goodwood but compensation awaits in the British Stallion Studs EBF Stonehenge Stakes at Salisbury.

Seventh to Chesham winner Humidity on his racecourse bow, Morris Dancer then hit the target in a Haydock novice, prompting John and Thady Gosden to make the leap to Group Two level in the Vintage Stakes.

Morris Dancer was sent off a 22-1 shot and after racing at the back of the field, he made significant progress in the final furlong to be beaten just a short head by the July Stakes hero Zavateri.

That was Morris Dancer's first run since May so he could certainly sharpen up for the experience, while the way he stayed on at Goodwood combined with his pedigree suggests this mile trip should be right up his street, particularly dropped to this Listed grade.
