Fortunately for us, our heritage and traditions - and ultimately for lovers of folk music worldwide - the Miles family moved to Billingham shortly after baby Graeme's arrival.
Graeme Miles’ father worked for ICI, and he grew up roaming around Cowpen Bewley and exploring Greatham Marshes.
A burgeoning talent for sketching and writing was fed by a conflicting landscape of marsh, moor, hill and coast combined with a brooding, overpowering industrial landscape guarding the untold stories hidden within its boundaries.
The West Hartlepool art student's search for the music that reflected this unique relationship left him frustrated. Undefeated, Miles decided if he couldn't find it, he would write it.
