Edwards vows to trust his gut after 'jaded' display

ROB Edwards says he'll learn to trust his gut more often when picking his Middlesbrough team - admitting he had a funny feeling about the starting lineup he decided to go with against Wrexham, but ignored the concern.
Boro managed to draw with Wrexham last time out when Hayden Hackney rescued a late point. But it had been a disappointing first half, with Edwards admitting after he got his team selection wrong as he made four changes at halftime to help inspire a better second 45.
One week on, asked if he'd learned much from that, Edwards admitted: "I think 'go with my gut' would be my big take away from Wrexham. I had a bit of a feeling about it the day before and I wasn't easy with it. Normally your gut is right. I went with what I went with, and it was a good team that went out there, we just didn't quite click.
"I think we looked a little jaded too. Morgan [Whittaker] and Della [Burgzorg] had both had a big week - Della two assists and Morgs two goals. So it was hard to take them out and make too many changes. I believed in what we did, but there was that thought of, 'I might need to freshen it up a bit more'.
