Drug treatment service has contract renewed

A DRUG and alcohol treatment and recovery service has seen its contract renewed at £11m for the next five years.

Change, Grow, Live (CGL) will continue to provide the services for Stockton Council under a contract approved by the authority's cabinet last week.

It currently supports over 1,700 adults and about 50 children and young people, with numbers rising by 14% for adults and 59% for children and young people since 2020.

The service has been praised for its performance as it is set to continue under a new contract at almost £2.3m per year, to a total value of £11.3m.

Some 46% of adults make significantly progress, completing treatment or significantly reducing or stopping substance use under the service, with outcomes for service users said to be positive overall.
