Drug driver is jailed after wild 120mph chase

A TEENAGER reached dangerous speeds of 120mph as he led police on a potentially deadly six-minute pursuit.
Logan Lawson drove a Seat Ibiza on the wrong side of the road and mounted the pavement as he tried to flee from officers. Teesside Crown Court heard the 18-year-old was caught when he jumped from the moving car and tried to make a run for it.
The drama unfolded at around 11.20pm on February 21 when he failed to stop for officers who flashed their blue lights on the A1280 near Station Town in East Durham.
Elisha Marsay, prosecuting, said: "The defendant negotiated a bend on the wrong side of the road, which caused a driver travelling in the opposite direction to take evasive action. He travelled at speeds of 120mph which was double the speed limit and overtook members of the public while doing so.
