Contract issues and questions within the camp
June 18, 2025
|The Gazette
THE incoming new Middlesbrough head coach will have plenty on their plate when they take their place in the Riverside hotseat.
-
The immediate task will be to assess the squad ahead of the new season and, working with sporting director Kieran Scott, identifying key areas to improve in the transfer window.
However, one pressing item on the agenda will be the contracts set to expire next summer, with plenty of Boro players falling into that category. Boro have some time, of course, with players unable to speak to other clubs until January, if their current deals run out in 2026.
There are some key players who they will want to avoid losing for nothing, while decisions will need to be made on several players who are perhaps slipping down the pecking order.
