Boy arrested over racially aggravated 'stones and fireworks' attack
October 25, 2025
|The Gazette
A BOY has been arrested after a "horrendously frightening incident" that led to a family being removed from their home.
The 12-year-old is in police custody after being arrested yesterday and is being questioned on suspicion of violent disorder and criminal damage.
It comes after a racially aggravated attack on a family home on Birchington Avenue, in Grangetown, on Thursday, October 16. A group of youths threw stones and fireworks at the house and then proceeded to attack police and damage a vehicle upon their arrival.
Assistant Chief Constable Dave Sutherland outlined this week that the family had to be removed from the premises "for their own safety" and were being safeguarded by Cleveland Police.
