Boss full of praise for energy and enthusiasm of

ROB Edwards has been left enthused by Abdoulaye Kante's start at Boro, but is still calling for patience for the new central midfielder.

Kante became Boro's second summer signing earlier this week when he joined from Troyes, in a deal that could eventually rise to £3 million. Though still only 20, the defensive-minded midfielder already has over 50 senior appearances for the French second-tier side on his CV, and had a growing reputation in France.

Boro were able to land the exciting prospect ahead of Ligue 1 clubs, and are now keen to help him adapt to English football as soon as possible.

Though perhaps a project signing rather than a ready-made star, his arrival can be best compared to that of Rav van den Berg two years ago.
