Blues boss Davies still on red alert

BIRMINGHAM City boss Chris Davies is still expecting the best version of Middlesbrough tomorrow, despite the uncertainty surrounding head coach Rob Edwards.

The Boro boss did not take training or hold his usual pre-match press conference yesterday. It follows an official approach from Wolves to speak to the 42-year-old about taking their vacant managerial post.

Hardly ideal preparation for Boro, it serves as a huge distraction ahead of what should be a big game at the Riverside for them as they aim to get back to winning ways after failing to win any of their last three games. It’s seen Boro slip to third in the Championship table.
