Majority of tickets for locals

More than 75 per cent of the free Youth Beatz tickets have been allocated to Dumfries and Galloway residents as it aims to provide young people, aged 12 to 25, with an event they can attend with their peers in a safe environment and to gain information on a range of services that are available to them.

A spokesperson said: "Youth Beatz features emerging talent and engages young people in issues that are likely to affect them. It promotes skills development, encourages and builds confidence and self-esteem in our young people, and fosters community spirit and civic pride in the young people who participate in the event.
