Uy calls on public to join Nov. 30 prayer rally

Cebu Archbishop Alberto “Abet” Uy is calling on all peace-loving Cebuanos to participate in the upcoming “SuPaKK: Sugboanong Pakigbisog Kontra Korapsyon” prayer-march rally on November 30, emphasizing prayer, unity, and civic engagement in the fight against corruption.

The event, organized by the coalition SuPaKK, will begin at 2:30 P.M. with a Mass at the Pilgrim Center of the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebu.

Following the Mass, participants will proceed to Fuente Osmeña for the main program, which will feature prayers, testimonies from victims of calamities and anomalous projects, and cultural presentations.

Uy urged the faithful to join in the public expression.

"I call on all Cebuanos who love peace and justice to come together in prayer and solidarity. Let us stand united against corruption and seek hope and alternatives that are rooted in faith, integrity, and service to our fellow citizens," he said in a video message shown during the press conference.

Representatives from SuPaKK’s member organizations will deliver messages and declarations during the program, culminating in a collective chorus of commitment against corruption. Organizers emphasized that the Cebu rally is part of a nationwide movement aligned with similar mobilizations in Metro Manila and other regions.
