For their valuable contributions not only to Cebu sports but also to the country as a whole, several coaches and athletes are set to receive special citations in the highly anticipated 40th Sportswriters Association of Cebu-San Miguel Brewery (SAC-SMB) Cebu Sports Awards on March 8 at the Activity Center of Ayala Center Cebu.

The annual gathering will once again highlight Cebu's enduring role in shaping champions and mentors whose achievements have carried the province's pride onto national and international platforms.
To be recognized for their stirring exploits in their respective fields are Mark Mahinay (athletics), Nickson Andwele Cabañero (basketball), Arlando Senoc, Rodex Piala, Christian Araneta, and Christian Balunan (boxing), Toledo-Xignex Trojans (chess), Marlon Aliño and Lucy Hamilton (dancesport), and Kamil Jaser Amirul and Ronito Mendoza (football).
