Reso pushes to let buses use CBRT lane

A legislator is now officially lobbying for a resolution to allow the utilization of the designated middle lanes for Cebu Interim Bus Services (CIBUS) operations along Fuente Osmeña to the Cebu South Bus Terminal for the partial commencement of the Cebu Bus Rapid Transit (CBRT) system in September 2025, as part of the implementation of Package 1.
This is the resolution of Councilor Winston Pepito, chairman of the Committee on Transportation of the City Council. The council is set to deliberate on the matter during the regular session this Tuesday.
As determined in the resolution, the infrastructure implementation for Package 1 of the CBRT project is projected to reach substantial completion by the last week of August 2025, according to the Department of Transportation (DOTr) in a letter dated August 27, 2025.
It also stated that a key feature of the CBRT project is the provision of segregated bus lanes situated along the innermost lanes in both directions, consistent with the approved Detailed Engineering Design.
