COMELEC REMINDS CANDIDATES

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has reminded all candidates and political parties that by now, election-related propaganda and campaign materials should already be in the process of being taken down or else will face penalties or disqualification.

"Inaatasan ang lahat ng kandidato at partido na alisin o ipaalis ang lahat ng kanilang election propaganda o campaign materials sa loob ng limang (5) araw mula Election Day or 12 May 2025," read Comelec's announcement on its official Facebook page, which means the candidates have three days, including today, to take their materials.

This directive is in accordance with Comelec Resolution No. 11086 or the Fair Elections Act.

Under Section 30 of the resolution, the removal of propaganda materials after the elections is mandatory.

It is specified that this must be done within five days after election day “without need of notice.”
