Former Tourism Secretary Ace Durano, who now serves as her special adviser for economic and political affairs, was also in attendance.
A political newcomer, Baricuatro credited her campaign’s grassroots support and volunteer network, promising to foster a leadership style centered on accessibility, transparency, and practical governance.
In fact, Baricuatro made remarks about the special session of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP), which was supposed to deliberate on a proposed P1.2-billion supplemental budget but failed to convene due to a lack of quorum.
Only five out of 17 board members showed up, delaying the critical financial discussion.
Addressing the issue shortly after her oath-taking, Baricuatro asked the members of the Provincial Board for cooperation and urgency, especially regarding healthcare funding.
