Outage, yes; violence, no

Last Thursday, activists from various groups held a protest outside the gate of St. Gerrard Construction in Pasig City, owned by the now much-maligned Discaya couple, calling out the contractors and politicians behind anomalous flood control projects.

Aside from calling for justice they hurled rocks at the gate and spray-painted the walls and signage of the company.

In Manila City also last Thursday, protesters pelted the Department of Public Works and Highways office with dirty water and rotten vegetables, saying perhaps the same things said during the action in front of the construction firm office. The ones who took the brunt of their ire were a bunch of policemen who were standing guard there.
