Mandaue City Council only has 1 floor leader

For the first time in the history of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Mandaue City, all councilors have agreed to have only one floor leader, effectively dissolving the positions of majority and minority floor leaders.

This means that the 17th Sangguniang Panlungsod now has a single floor leader, regardless of political affiliation—whether from the majority or minority.

In an interview, Councilor Carlo Fortuna told reporters that their decision was a very positive development that took place yesterday, July 14, before the regular session.

He shared that in the previous years, there was always a majority leader and a minority leader in the Mandaue City Council because there were distinct majority and minority parties.
