The Cebu City Council unanimously approved a resolution urging social media influencers, content creators, and online personalities---operating at or reaching audiences in Cebu City---to share in the fight against online gambling by refraining from promoting it online in any form.

The Cebu City Council unanimously approved a resolution urging social media influencers, content creators, and online personalities---operating at or reaching audiences in Cebu City---to share in the fight against online gambling by refraining from promoting it online in any form.
The Council resolution also denounced individuals engaged in creating, distributing, or utilizing social media content that promotes online gambling to their audiences.
The approved resolution, authored by Councilor Edgardo “Jaypee” Labella II, was derived from the efforts of the national government to control—and possibly ban totally—all forms of online gambling due to its harmful effects on the public.
