Gatchalian backs probe into defective projects

In partnership with the Valenzuela City LGU and the Valenzuela City DSWD, Gatchalian distributed P2.145 million worth of rice and P2 million in cash assistance to 85,603 families across the affected cities. He was joined by Valenzuela City Councilors Ghogo Deato Lee and Mario San Andres.

The senator distributed aid in Talisay, Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu, and Cebu City, and turned over 300 sacks of rice to the Cebu Provincial Government as part of his ongoing support to affected communities.

Gatchalian began his visit in Talisay City, where he inspected flood-hit areas, including Purok Isla Verde and Sitio Bahala, two riverside communities severely affected by days of torrential rains.

He met with some displaced residents, and coordinated with local officials on immediate and long-term solutions. “Gusto kong personal na makita ang sitwasyon at marinig ang concerns ng mga residente,” the senator said, emphasizing the need for both relief and sustainable flood-control measures.
