The Department of Labor and Employment in Central Visayas (DOLE-7) marked this year's Labor Day celebration by awarding more than P10 million in aid to over 1,000 beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program in Cebu.

The festivities kicked off with a tripartite solidarity walk from Plaza Independencia to Robinsons Galleria Cebu, followed by a mass and a program. One of the event highlights was the “Talentadong Mamumu-o 2025,” a talent competition in which both labor and management joined singing and dancing contests under individual and group categories.

Participants walked away with prizes as high as P35,000 in cash, along with motorcycles and other raffle items.

Simultaneously, a job fair was held at SM Seaside City Cebu, offering 3,000 job vacancies for jobseekers. This was part of a nationwide initiative with DOLE organizing job fairs in 69 locations across the country.

In addition, overseas job fairs were conducted in Bohol and Negros Oriental.

This year's celebration carried the theme: "Manggagawang Pilipino, Kaagapay sa Pag-unlad, Sandigan ng Mas Matatag na Bagong Pilipinas."
