DepEd to integrate PQF competencies in K to 12

The Department of Education (DepEd) is set to integrate competencies aligned with the Philippine Qualifications Framework (PQF) into the K to 12 curriculum an important milestone in ongoing education reform efforts.

This initiative follows a high-level meeting of the PQF-National Coordinating Council (PQF-NCC), chaired by Education Secretary Sonny Angara, and attended by key officials from partner agencies and organizations.
Among the notable attendees were Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairman J. Prospero De Vera III, TESDA Director General Kiko Benitez, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Undersecretary Carmela Torres, Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Assistant Commissioner Louis Valera, and SEAMEO INNOTECH Centre Director Majah-Leah Ravago, alongside Secretary Angara.
Their united presence signals a growing institutional commitment to harmonize learning outcomes, enhance labor mobility, and align Philippine qualifications with global standards.
