Cebu City, CCPO gear up for 44th ASEAN Summit

The Cebu City government has intensified its effort to fortify public safety and inter-agency coordination in line with Cebu poised to host high-level ministerial meetings under the 44th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit next year.
On Tuesday, Mayor Nestor Archival convened a strategic conference with Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) officials, station commanders, and members of the City Councilunderscoring a proactive stance on law enforcement support as international preparations gain momentum.
The ASEAN Summit, set for 2026, serves as Southeast Asia’s principal forum for regional collaboration among the 10 member nations.
While Manila will host the formal summit proceedings, the cities Cebu and Lapu-Lapu will welcome delegates for key events, including the 29th ASEAN Tourism Ministers’ Meeting slated in January.
“We want peace, order, and progress to begin with harmony within City Hall and the police force,” Archival said.
